This red wine varietal, which is not typical for Rheinhessen, requires very warm, good locations. The late ripening of the grapes demands a lot of sun. We have greatly reduced the yield, allowing the grapes to ripen to a deep dark red with intense berry fruit.
The grapes were traditionally fermented on the mash. The subsequent storage and maturation for over 8 months took place in small oak barrels.
